Im in need of a new desktop.

My budget is a maximum of £2000.

At first i was going for an i75960x and gtx980 and build up around that. But there was NO way I could get under £2000.

So I looked at different configurations but i wasnt too sure if they were the best performing for under £2000.

So Im in need of knowing What is the ABSOLUTE BEST PERFORMING gaming build for UNDER £2000.

I dont mind at all if its overkill or takes too much energy.

Im looking for performance. So the best build for under £2000.

This is excluding a display, mouse, keyboard and speakers.

Please remember that Im looking for the absolute best within my budget, that means the BEST performing CPU,GPU,Memory etc within my budget altogether.

Im not looking for just a good build for under £2000 but literally the BEST within my budget. I can easily choose a good cpu gpu storage case etc myself but I wont know if its the best.

So youve probably got the point Ive used the word best like over 5 times lol

thank you.nc

4k 16x9, 16x10, 21x9? which version? Don't get the i75960k costs way too much and would give you almost zero benefit over the other 2 5xxxx versions; a 2-3way sli gpu would be a much better choice. What fps do you want to play at? are you gaming at 4k or 1080p or both?

Both 1080p and 4k. But 4k does look like the future. Im just looking for whatever performs the best for my money. Not looking for specific fps. But of course higher the performance higher fps. It must be 16:9 when it is 4kuhd.

Would personally suggest getting a more powerful PC and get a great 1080p for now with your budget. Then just wait for 4k to become the norm price in a few years.

Sorry they are all a bit over but can be trimmed easily enough .

The sl 980's vs the sli 970's isn't fair to the 980's, because the 980 one doesn't include a screen. So of course it can afford ddr4 and an i75930k. Plus the OC and it performs like a 980 isn't true at 4k, because of the 3.5 gig of ram limit. Is someone in love/owns the 970? ;)

He does not need a monitor keyboard mouse or speakers included in this price.

Nope I run crossfire 290x's with the U28D590D, I'm just saying I don't see the performance differance to justify the £350 between the 980 and 970 sli. I also don't see a massive differance between them with the 4k benchmarks http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1351?vs=1354 . I get the vram only being 3.5gb with the 970 but most games go over 4gb anyhow, so vram heavy games you have to tick down textures, shadows, and or AA anyhow. Just the way I see it.

Also if he wants the 2011 v3 build sli 970's will beat a single 980 by a good margin.
