I have an Alienware Aurora R4 and I am looking to replace the processor.

Right now I have an Alienware motherboard with MPN: FPV4P 0FPV4P 7JNH0 07JNH0

and my processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 CUP @3.60 GHz

I believe i need to replace my current processor since Ive gotten a few blue screens. I ran a system test and had several errors come back saying that components in the processor caused a system crash.

I'm pretty new to this processor stuff, so any help on this would be appreciated. I'm wanting to buy and change it myself.

First off, you need to make sure you get a CPU with the same socket. The one you have has a LGA 2011. A really good way to test compatibility (may not be the most reliable) is go to http://pcpartpicker.com/ and put in your current specs and you can filter by compatibility.
