I'm looking ahead to buy a laptop, but I am confused between what kind of processor, RAM and graphics card to look for.

Starting with my budget. I'm looking for something between 30000 to 40000 Indian rupees
(around 470USD to 625USD)
I will use the laptop for mostly software development. I don't play games much, but I do love to play flight simulator(flightgear) which does require some GPU power.

Other than this, I think 500GB HDD and 15 inch screen(no touchscreen) should be more than enough for me. I will be using some kind of Linux distro.

This would seem to be the highest performance laptop you can get for that price. the 840M should play Flight simulator, but probably not at max settings. there is this, but it is $25 over your budget, and in India it could be far more due to strange pricing. If you can scrape up the extra cash buy this, as it will be a better long term investment. Also, you will want to do a reinstall of windows and the drivers, as it is said to come with a fair amount of bloat ware.

This is a great piece. If possible, I will try to get this without an OS so I could save some money(anyway I would be uninstalling windows OS, so better not get it.)
