Spray Paint Back of Case?

I have a HAF 912 sitting on a shelf on the wall.
From where I sit, I can only see the intake-side and rear of case.
My wall has a brown / red theme to it and the silverish back plate is such a sore thumb.

Can I, after completely dismantling the case of course, safely use red spray paint on the back panel?

Very Light Coats with lots of time to dry in between. Prolly stretch it out over two days if need be.

Solution
Its best if you start with a coat of primer for metal. I don't see it taking less than 3 days. The paint and primer need their curing time.
Pick up some VHT engine primer and dupli-color caliper paint in a can. if done right its damn near impossible to scratch off. You can also put your computer back together within an hour of the last coat, and will fully cure in 24 hours.

After doing my calipers with this stuff and have some left over, I use it on almost any project that needs painted unless if cant find the color I want.

Hmm.. Primer. Prolly a good idea.

The surface to be painted already seems (textured?) enough that I shouldn't have to sand or steel wool it.

So, as long as I use quality paint and primer and let cure well, I should be good to go!
