Office encountered an error

I try to install office and i get an error 3/4 of the way though saying: Microsoft Office Standard 2010 encountered an error during setup.

I am about to tear my f***ing hair out over this!!!!!

I have tried almost every damn solution on google but NOTHING WORKS!!!!!!

I ave tried 3 different digital copies when installing.

They all come up with the same error!!!! If I was to take one of these copies and install it on another computer, it will work just fine!!!

Do you have a prior version of Office installed? If so, you may need to do a manual cleanup of it, possibly in Safe Mode (there may be an otherwise undeletable key in the Registry).

How do I go about doing a manual cleanup? There was a previous version of Office on here

Try simply uninstalling it first. If that does not allow the new version to install, you'll need to go into your registry and delete the Microsoft Office hives in HKLM\Software. Microsoft may have a "Fixit" to do this if you're having trouble deleting a particular key.

When I run the "Fix It" from the microsoft website: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Uninstall-or-remove-Microsoft-Office-2010-suites-90635a1d-aec8-4653-b358-67e1b766fc4d?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

I get an error saying "There is a problem with the windows installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

And on the second website I have alread tried the

msiexec /unregister
msiexec /register

Still not working......

That article applies to uninstalling MS Office 2010; I thought you had 2007? Try the other Fixit in my link.

The problem you are having is with UNINSTALLING the prior version of Office BEFORE installing Office 2010. Getting rid of the prior Office is the problem, so you'll be looking for the Fixit for that version. A Fixit to remove Office 2010 will fail since 2010 is not the version that is installed.

Make sure you are running the Fixit for the right version. The first one is to remove Office 2010, which is not installed. You need the Fixit that removes the PRIOR version you have. If it fails, you'll need to attempt the manual removal, most likely in Safe Mode.

The previously installed version was Office Standard 2010, I am trying to reinstall Office 2010 Standard again.

I am having the same issue on another computer that has never had office on it!

It's legit. I have downloaded directly from Microsoft. I have 3 copies all from different vendors but none of them will install on these two machines. I tried on another computer and it works perfectly fine!!

Hmmm. in REGEDIT, look in HKLM\Software and in HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node for any trace of Microsoft Office and remove them.

At this point, it looks like your only solution may be a wipe and re-install. If Microsoft's own tools aren't helping, I'm not sure what else to suggest. If there are no traces of Office, it must be something corrupt in Windows itself.
