Hi guys. I recently installed my i/o shield into my computer and a computer speaker cable (the thint beeps). Upon turning my computer on my speakers went staticy. So to fix this, I took the motherboard completely out of the case and then put it back in. After that the speakers worked fine, so I'm not sure if something was shortening it out or what.

Anyways last night I was playing mortal kombat x and the sound was nice and loud. Then all of a sudden I heard what sounded like a boom and then the speakers went staticy again. I unplugged everything, including the speakers, main computer, monitor etc and rebooted everything multiple times.

I then thought it might be the speakers but I tested those on multiple other devices and they worked fine.

I then tried plugging my speakers from the main computer to the slot on the back of the motherboard. While this approach got rid of the static and stuff, The sound is extremely low and I can barely hear it. I have to turn the volume all the way up just to hear it.

Here are the things I've tried:
Went to asrock's website and downloaded the newest realtek sound driver for my motherboard. Installed that and that made no difference.

I'm open to any suggestions. I'm thinking the sound card must have somehow died out.
