Every time I run "Intel Smart Connect Technology" I get the following error:

"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2753."

Any help appreciated :)

OK sorry this is just new to me, just tried the command line fix in that link you provided and still get the same error.

Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 5
CPU: Intel I7-4790k
Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO
RAM: Corsair 16GB
GPU: 2x EVGA 780ti SC's in SLI
HDD: 2s Samsung SSD's
PSU: Corsair TX750 (I have a Corsair HX1000w on the way)

Hope that helps?

Also, what version of Intel Smart Connect Technology have you tried?
5.0.10.2907?
or
5.0.10.2850?

Finally, have you tried re-downloading the install file to eliminate the possibility of a damaged install package?

Sorry that link took me to a page where there was a command line fix for the same error.

Anyway, its Win8.1 64-bit

And

It just says "Smart Connect Technology 5.0", I also tried 4.2.40.2384 as well but get the exact same error.

After install a little warning triangle appeared in system tray, it took me to smart connect as it states my chipset drivers are not installed. My mobo is an MSI Z97 Gaming 5, not updated signature yet.

OK, so this is what is happening so far. I have a "Solve PC Issues" flag in my system tray, when I click on it it says "Install Your Chipset Driver", so I click on that and it opens a window with a link saying "tap or click link to download the new driver from the intel coporation website" so I do that which just directs me here:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23109

So I install that, and when trying to run it is when I get the error mention in my first post.

Uninstall everything you haved installed so far. Go to the BIOS, restore it to the default settings. Download and install the lastest BIOS version: http://us.msi.com/support/mb/Z97-GAMING-5.html#down-bios.
Access the BIOS and enable "Intel Smart Connect Configuration". Download the chipset driver from the factory website as @SinxarKnights said.

Intel Smart Connect Config is already enabled in my BIOS and it's already just at default settings. I've also just been here: http://uk.msi.com/support/mb/Z97-GAMING-5.html#down-driver&Win8.1 64

And downloaded the "System & Chipset Drivers" but upon installing them all I get is this, and I still have the update flag flashing in my sys tray:

I can't seem to find any actual Intel utility installed on my system other than Smart Connect, which just throws an error

Again, do you have the lastest BIOS driver?

Restart your machine, boot the OS, log in, go to Control Panel > System and Security > Action Center > Troubleshooting and repair the Windows Update. Restart your machine, open Windows Update and verify for new updates avaiable.
