so basically what your saying is that i have to upgrade my macbook pro...?

No, if the software is supported by your laptop, which I assume it is as Apple are very good at making sure that most of their laptops are compatible with their new software, you should be able to visit the site that me88 said and download the sofware. You can always check on their website before downloading to make sure it is compatible.

I'm not saying you have to upgrade your MacBook Pro. I was simply providing a link to the update OS X to 10.8.5 should you need to in order to get the game to run. Are you able to download the game? If yes, have you downloaded it and tried it with OS X version 10.7.5?

The versions of apps available on the Mac App Store can differ from the vendors site. They may/may not have feature differences between them. If the vendor site says you can run it, they are referring to the version specifically available through purchasing it directly through them. MAS requirements may differ depending on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, features, reliability, cost, overall performance etc..

in one of the reviews for the app it says that the game won't start, which kind of makes sense when the game is for a version of an operating systems that is newer then the one your using, basically i'm assuming it won't start it needs to be on a newer version of mac, but i could be wrong. i will try this for my self when i get the chance, if this is something you need to know right away then i recommend you trying for your self as for its not an urgent issue.

No urgency as I don't game anyway. I hope it works for you.
