My gigabyte r9 280x wf oc rev 2 runs at 89 C even at 100% fan speed. This temp is usually noticeable when im running tomb raider with tressfx. Thss card was a replacement when i exchanged my first faulty 280x. This isnt normal right considering the windforce 3x cooling is supposed to be superb? Could it be that they gave me another faulty card? Also i didnt overclock anything on my pc so card runs at factory overclock of 1100mhz

Specs are
Corsair carbide spec-03 case
i5 4590 with stock cooling
Asus h97 pc mate
Corsair cx750m

2 intake fans at the front but the bottom one is kinda blocked by the hard drive cage and theres a rear exhaust fan. Taking off the side panel decreases the temps by 4°C only.Ambient room temps are about 32° and i read at the official gigabyte site that even at full load temps are supposed to be around 76° I am really worried about the longevity of the lifespan of my card so is this normal for a 280x or is my card being a b*tch again??

Solution
Ambient temp of 30c+ is dkways going to push the card over 80c at high load.
I'm assumg you're not using vsync??
Turn it on - it'll drop GPU usage by 20% & lower temps a fair bit too.

Just checked ambient temps are 27 C today but card still running hot. The fact that im running fans at 100% speed but still getting temps close to 90 concerns me. Also, my previous card ran much cooler than this :(
Could it be a PSU problem somehow?

Ok this helped a little bit (now temps are hovering around 80C)
i guess the problem just lies within my non-air conditioned room
