Hello. I just bought an Asus Zenbook UX303LA ultrabook with onboard 4GB, it comes with an extra RAM slot for memory upgrade, and it states in various review sites that this model is upgradable to up to 12 GB.

The thing is, I bought a Kingston 4GB 1600 module and when I install it, the machine detects only the ram I installed and not the onboard memory, as CPU-Z says it has a Kingnston module whith it installed, and doesn't state the brand when it is not installed.

I looked if there was a BIOs update and it seems to be up to date. Also, there isn't any memory related setting in the BIOs.

Initial guess is just that the sticks don't want to play together, happens all the time and sad with laptops they normally have a locked BIOS, otherwise you would normally try adding a little voltage to the DRAM or the MC to try and get them to play
