Hi!

I have a question for you guys: currently I'm running a kingston KHX16C10B1BK2/16X kit (1600mhz, cl10, 1.5v, xmp) but I have a KHX1600C9D3K2/8G kit laying around of an old build which run is cl9 and 1.65v(according to the label on them).

Is it possible to use both of the kits at the same time?

If they are impossible/too risky/not worth it, what kit (8 gb, don't really want to spend that much atm for a 16gb kit) should I pick up to match my current ones? (Specially cause my current ones are not sold anymore.)

Thanks for your answers,
sen

Since you have them, give them a try and see if they will play, start with the 1.65 sticks in slots 1-3, go into BIOS make sure settings correct, save, exit, shutdown - then add the other two sticks and let us know what it does

It boots, and runs at a 1333mhz, recognizing all 4 rams, and running at normal temps (running a stress test atm).
I did disable xmp profiling however in the bios atm, should I turn it on? In theory only the 16gb kit supports it, the 8gb does not, however if i enable it with only the 8gb installed it lists it as 1600mhz 1.65v, when disabled it's listed as 1600mhz 1.5v.
And if I enable it with both the 16gb and 8gb installed it says 1600mhz 1.5v, while disabled it's 1333mhz 1.5v.

Also I had some confusion about the dual channel on my motherboard, as it lists the following:
"The four DDR3 memory sockets are divided into two channels and each channel has two memory sockets as
following:
Channel 0: DDR3_4, DDR3_2
Channel 1: DDR3_3, DDR3_1"
then right after it: "
For optimum performance, when enabling Dual Channel mode with two memory modules, we recommend
that you install them in the DDR3_1 and DDR3_2 sockets."

Currently I have installed the ram in the following order:
ddr3_3 and 1: 8gb kit 1600mhz 1.65v
ddr4_4 and 2: 16gb kit 1600mhz 1.5v
Cpu-z says that it's in dual channel, sadly in the bios I couldn't find any settings according to this.
How it should be installed for proper dual channel?

Thanks,
sen
