Ok so I am debating on either picking up another gtx 970 for SLI, or changing out cpu.
I am looking for the most logical jump in gaming performance

Currently running:
FX-8350 oc'ed to 4.6
Zotac 970 oc'ed +150 core +450 memory
8gb DDR3
QNIX 2710 oc'ed to 110hz

Would adding another 970 or changing cpu to 4690k get most improvement?
In games I am seeing about 50% cpu usage.

Just looking for thoughts. Not pulling the trigger on anything yet.

I don't think I'm bottleneck in the 979. Any way to test this? In game for FFXIV I'm getting over 90% usage on gpu. I know Intel performs better but I'm thinking I would get more use out of the 970 for now and that's why I was looking for opinions. Ty

I ran 2 290's with a 6300@4.7 hooked up to the exact same monitor at 110hz as well, and it did bottleneck them when I played a game like Crysis 3 my second 290 would never hit 100% and my first one fluctuated a bit. When I upgraded to a 4690k I tri fired 290's and got above 90% across all 3 with Crysis 3 and I believe it averaged about 85-90fps maxed out at 1440p, it been awhile since I did that.

If I were you I would go with the sli 970's because bottleneck or not you're still going to see a nice improvement, then with your next upgrade to an i5 you will get another nice performance boost.
