Difference between Gaming Motherboards and regular?

Solution
Generally speaking a gaming mobo is going to have OC ability's and more PCI-E slots. However in most cases they are the same.
A good comparison is the Intel H97 and Z97. Z97 (Gaming with OC) H97 (Without OC)
Short answer;

If you're looking to overclock, go for Z97 (often branded gaming for overclocking features and allowing for multiple Graphics Cards, to run in SLI/Xfire)

If not overclocking and/or will stick to single GPU, H97 would be the better/more suited budget choice
