I am looking to get into pc gaming and i would like to know if this is a decent build.
I'm not all about graphics but it would be great to know if this would be good for medium-high settings.

CPU: Intel® Core™ i5 4460
Motherboard: MSI B85M-E45 Motherboard
Graphics: MSI GeForce GTX 970 OC 4GB
Memory: Kingston Hyper X Fury HX318C10FBK2/8 8GB (2x4GB) Black
Solid State Drive: Intel 535 Series 120GB SSD
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro Chassis Black
Power Supply: Be Quiet! Pure Power L8 500W Power Supply

Thanks

You are on the right track, and yes... no issues with that type of setup handling medium-high settings while gaming. My thoughts are below...

MB + CPU - You have a B85 motherboard (last gen) paired with a Haswell Refresh CPU (current gen) and that motherboard would need a BIOS update prior to use. Best to go with an H97 motherboard (current gen) paired with the i5-4460, or with the i5-4440 CPU (last gen) paired with the B85 motherboard.
MEM - Those are high latency modules being DDR3-1600 CL10. Look for DDR3-1600 CL9 or lower, or DDR3-1866 CL10 or lower. ..both at 1.5v. The modules below are performance oriented being low latency (DDR3-1866 CL9) and are price nicely at the moment.
SSD - The Intel is fine and all, but overpriced...

SSD - The Intel is fine and all, but overpriced for its capacity. At that price you can get into the Crucial BX100 250GB which is a solid budget performer. Also consider the Samsung 840 / 850 EVO or Crucial MX100.
GPU - Changed to a GTX 970 with a higher factory overclock that is also less expensive.
CASE - Fine and all, but switched to stay closer to the budget.
PSU - No. XFX or Seasonic, then if needed look toward Antec or EVGA G2 or Supernova lineups.

Thanks for the solution, would you have any input on a decent monitor for under $150, preferably 20-25"

Yep, but my recommendations won't be under $150! Check out the items in the link below... Note the filters on the left (widescreen, LED backlit, IPS, and either 1920x1080 or 1920x1200). Being an IPS panel is what is driving up costs a bit, but the wide viewing angle and brightness are well worth it in my opinion.
