Hi,

I have had my rig for a while and haven't turned it on for a good couple of months. Last time i turned it on my temps on idle were about 30 degrees for the i5-2500k. However I turned it on and now the idle temps are above 90 degrees. I can't figure out why. Can anybody help? Or will I have to purhcase a new water cooling unit for my CPU?

Ouch! Don't keep it on for too long with those temps :/ the CPU cooler isn't working at all, check the pump rpm with corsair link software, it should be >2000rpm, if it isn't theres a problem.

do you have an old stock cooler you can put on in the mean time?

In that case, make sure the SATA power cable from the pump is plugged in, and the 3 pin is as well. If it is, put your ear against the pump. You should be able to hear a faint whirring sound, but it is quiet. I recommend that you stop all other fans. If you can't hear anything, then RMA it. If you can, re apply the thermal paste, and make sure the block is firmly held against the CPU. Re install Corsair Link, and see if it is recognized. If everything is now normal, then obviously do not worry. If none of this works, then just RMA it. You have a DOA unit.
