I currently have an HP Desktop computer (H8-1120) product# QP771AA

The current graphics card I have as an AMD Radeon HD 7570, and since I wanted to play some high-end games, I decided to upgrade my graphics card. I purchased a GTX 750TI and it just arrived today.

I uninstalled the old graphics card drivers, then removed the old graphics card from my computer. Placed the new one in, and plugged in all of the cables.
What happened afterwards is my monitor would get to a blue screen with the HP logo, and freeze up. Then after about 10 seconds, I would hear a single short beep from my computer, which would repeat every 10 seconds.

After some testing I was able to determine that upon powering up the PC with the new card in, the fan for the new card would start, all the LEDs light up as usual. When I put my old graphics card in, everything works fine.

I spoke with the graphics card company (EVGA) and they said it had to do with the BIOS, specifically if I had an old version like a 2011 version, I would need to update it.

I typed in "msinfo32" and saw my BIOS version is "AMI 7.16 , 05/10/2011". I went to the HP website and entered my product info, an update came up, and the new version was dated to 2013. I downloaded the update, installed it, restarted my computer, and just to check that the BIOS update went through, i checked msinfo32 again and it displayed the old version (AMI 7.16 05/10/2011).

I repeated the BIOS update process a few times, trying to manually update it by downloading the .exe and running it, and using the assistant, nothing worked. I tried replacing the card and seeing if it would work, same problem as above, blue screen and beeping.

From what I can assume, my BIOS is not updating correctly, and thus my computer cannot read the new card and is causing the beeps.

Please help! If you have any suggestions I would appreciate the input!

I'm having this exact same issue, same model HP and all. Only difference is I have a GT 730 card I'm trying to install. Did you find a solution?
