Got two screws stuck in the standoffs. I'm trying to send both the board and the case back to the seller (because the USB 3 cable broke which consequently put the USB 3 port on the board out of action). I've tried using pliers to get the stand off free from the screw, but all it does it ruin the paint

I had this problem, oversized screws will screw into standoffs a little way, and then not come out. I managed to get one out by gripping just the screw with small pliers turning anti clockwise and pulling outwards with moderate pressure. Good luck!

I have pliers with teeth. Should I try ones without teeth?

teeth are better for gripping the sides of the screw head, as long as they are small enough for you to get around the screw without damaging any components on the mboard :sol:

Honestly I would just drill the head of the screw. Once you get through the screw, you can remove the motherboard, and then remove the stand-off and pitch it. The head int he screw will keep the bit centered, so there is very little risk. Just blow the shavings off afterwards.
