I tried to respond to and even tried to bump! this 13 year old thread:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/305209-30-foxconn-n15235-problems

i looked here but got no definite answer:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/307881-30-foxconn-n15235-installed-cmos-regocnized-windows

i have same issue 1.5GB on the board - only 1gb being reported in POST.
it runs 533mhz RAM, very disappointing. i am unable to find out much about the board.
this is a really crap board. i've NEVER rated foxconn, they are rubbish.

a friend has it and is too stingy to upgrade - there is no memory mapping in the BIOS so I can't re-map and it just feels cheap and stupid. I cannot find any specs for it but with only two slots, WHOAH!

I'm glad it isn't my system...

I assume that this is an oem board that was only sold to manufacturers and not to the public so the memory limitation is not surprising. Tell you friend to cough up some bucks for a new motherbd unless he is still running windows 95.

Do you know which make and model oem pc it is or was?

And you did good by not bumping up a 13 yr old post. Your issue needs it own thread and you did perfect by linking to the old thread. So TY for that.

Thanks, pop. It was a Dell. Yeah, poorly designed cheap rubbish; OEM all the way. Took me 4x as long as usual, lost will to live!
Truth be told he could get an ASUS P5B-Deluxe for £45 but it's not my problem.
He wanted golden performance from something over 13 years old. It is crazy how "not we"s think, isn't it?
I just wanted to raise a glaring issue with this board and remind the community of the "con" in Foxconn! (hence the update)
I'll leave the fella with his rather sad setup with 768MB of RAM.
Had a virused, snail-pace W7 so restored, fixed the infected hiberfil.sys and safe mode scanned HARD and it was going OK considering but I could have pimped the RAM up for around a tenner if it recognised it.
Just beware this board and advise replacement. I hate it when acquantances inflict lousily maintained kit on me!!
