Hey guys,
I have been following the advice you guys have given so far and have upgraded just about everything but two things from my original pc desktop.

Budget is $300-$400 (want to keep it as low as I can)

I still have a motherboard + cpu that came with my first desktop pc ever (lenovo k430) that I feel needs an upgrade but I don't know. I'll let you guys decide. I'm running in sli so I wonder if my mobo or cpu are keeping my gpu's from doing their best.

In afterburner, both gpu and cpu's run @100% usage, in case that's important.

Current Specs:
i5 - 3350p
12gb ddr3
Z75 chipset mobo
2 x msi gtx 970 gaming gpu's in SLI
Corsair TX750
9x 120mm fans (11 if you count cooler fans)
212 CM Hypo EVO cooler :just for show, can't really overclock my cpu:(
2 x 500gb SSD's (samsung evo + crucial)
2 x 500gb HDD's
Antec 1100 V2

I want to handle Witcher 3 with everything maxed on a 1440p monitor + maybe some DSR if possible

Solution
If you're getting 100% use from both CPU/GPU it looks like there's no bottleneck, and no reason to upgrade, I suggest you wait until you play Witcher 3 and decide from the usage figures.

If overclocking options are available through the BIOS you could always try E-bay for a faster/unlocked CPU, the performance difference between Ivy Bridge and Haswell is very small, certainly not worth the cost/hassle of a full CPU/MB swap, but you must check that the MB can support the upgrade!

yeah, me either but apparently the lenovo k430 series carried the intel z75; it's a micro-atx. should i upgrade now or wait for skylake? I have a feeling it could be delayed til xmas and i'm impatient. I only game on my rig and light computer use otherwise

I guess i just need to wait for skylake to justify a swap like that i guess. I guess for now I can upgrade the cpu with something like a 2700k or 3rd gen i7 on craigs (should be 1155 socket). thanx cooz
