Hi guys,

I've been reading through the forums and cant yet find an answer to my problem First of all, my specs (which I completed building today).

Motherboard: Asus B85M-G

Processor: Intel Dual Core i3 4150

Graphics: Asus Geforce GTX 750 Ti DDR5 2GB

PSU: Corsair Builder Series CXM 600W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX/EPS PSU

Ram - HyperX Savage 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) 2400 MHz DDR3 CL11 DIMM XMP Memory Module

Chassis: CiT Spectre USB3 (Gaming Case)

I have checked the checklist and besides breadboarding (which I have no idea about), everything is connected properly with no noticeable issues

I have tried a new PSU which I know to be working, which also does not work in the build.

There is no response whatsoever, no noise, no moving parts, no shudder or flicker.

My thoughts are its a problem with the case (i.e. power button) or the motherboard, or something else... any ideas?

Thank you!

Yes, both are connected to the motherboard.

I am now in the process of using a multimeter to check the parts.

Try removing the case front panel wires from motherboard and start the board by shortly touching with a screwdriver the 2 pins on the motherboard corresponding to the case power button (check the board's manual).
Are standoffs installed in the right spots between case and motherboard?

Yes all standoffs are in the correct position with no extras.

Me and my dad are currently breadboarding. We have managed to complete a circuit running the power through the motherboard. There are no sounds emitting through the speaker, and the cpu fan twitched slightly a few times, and slightly each time we completed the circuit - (not sure if this is normal since I'm guessing there's no cooling needed at low temperatures?)

Yes I am testing it outside the case. I have the PSU plugged in, no ram currently, the internal speaker, the cpu and cpu fan plugged in.

The PSU is spinning (though oddly on the multi reader its not getting a variety of voltages). The cpu fan just twitches but its not spinning.

I cant work out if its a problem with the PSU - maybe its not giving enough power to the board hence the lack of speaker sound and the fan twitching, or a problem with the motherboard, or the CPU?? Either way the computer is not switching on at all. Luckily I bought everything through Amazon so replacing parts will be easy.

Done, nothing bent as far as I can tell - theyre not so much pins as small flat/slightly raised squares though on the socket. Put back together with the motherboard outside of the case, same response.

Unfortunately not, due to my limitations at the moment using my phone to post. I have opted to replace the motherboard, which will arrive on Saturday. I will update if this fixes my issue!
