Hey guys! I am buying a new laptop and my budget is $500. The best two laptops I found under $500 were these:

Laptop 1:
CPU: AMD A10-7300
GPU: Radeon R6 (Kaveri)
RAM: 8GB

Laptop 2:
CPU: Intel Core i5-5200U
GPU: Intel HD 5500 (Broadwell)
RAM: 6GB

I would love to know which laptop will get me better performance in gaming. I know, $500 is a terrible budget for gaming, but it's all I've got. If you know of any other good laptops for gaming under $500 please leave below.

Solution

If was my money i would risk to buy a new battery :D

But if you could spare $70 more you could buy this brand new Acer Laptop Aspire V3-572G-543S.
Intel Core i5 5200U; 8GB; GT 840M.
It is not a perfect setup for your BF4 gaming endeavours but can be done (HD/med settings/40FPS).

Online? Medium @ 1080p will be around 25-30fps, touch higher with mantle. You will need to drop resolution to get decent fps, but it'll do it.

Ok. Last time I bought a refurbished product I was denied a refund by newegg and was not allowed a return either, the laptop had a bad battery, drained battery while shut down and plugged in, etc. So yeah I would love a new, not refurbished laptop.

So what I would like to know is which of these integrated gpus are better for gaming:

Radeon R6 (Kaveri)

OR

Intel HD 5500 (Broadwell)

THe A10 is going to give you the best gaming performance in a laptop between the two you've listed. The integrated HD 5500 graphics are going to not serve you well for gaming at all :) Just please be sure not to get an HP laptop.

You won't be able to play Battlefield 3/4 at a decent fps with medium or low settings. These CPUs were not designed to maximum performance, but to balance power consumption with performance. You will need a GPU to run the recent games, and with a $500 budget you don't have many possibilities. Intel HD 5500 may run Diablo 3 at medium settings AND at high temperatures, wich could decrease the lifespan of the CPU.
So, you either save more money for a better laptop with a dedicated GPU
OR
you buy the refurbished laptop mentioned by @filippi
OR
deal with it. Intel HD 5500* is not for games.

*A10 have low benchmarks; check reviews.

What stone says is true unfortunately. You will be able to play more games on the A10 than on the IGPU on the i5 but not battleflied. Think more along the lines of League of Legends, Wow, and others. With low settings and a cooling pad you may be surprised what you can play.

Exactly what he said

For gaming I5 + GT 840M would be the right choice for OP by far.
