Motherboard or GPU problems?

Hi. Yesterday, my pc would not show any display from my GTX 570. But my onboard graphics worked fine. My GTX 570 doesnt even show up in device manager or in BIOS. So i thought it was a GPU problem. Then when booting up, i got a message Boot Disk Failure. So i changed the sata port the hard drive was plugged into and then it booted up fine but the GTX 570 still didnt work. But then I put another Graphics card in and it wouldnt show any display off that either. I could hear the GPU fan changing fan speed every few seconds. It would spin loudly, then quiet. Then loudly then quiet and so on.. So i am thinking that it is a motherboard problem. Any suggestions?

Solution
the only real way is tho either use a tester that lights up when signal is sent/recieved or try the gpu on another rig and if it wotks its the pci slot in which case you would need to replace the mobo or have a shop fix yours which could be more expensive than replacing it.
