So two of my PSUs blew up, and I think the problem is overheating. My computer is on a carpet and there is less than a 1cm of room for air. So i want to know if i should either place my PSU facing up and taking the air from the case, or get some flat piece of wood and put it under the computer to make the floor flat.

would putting it facing up be just as good, or is it safer facing down but on flat surface

Well mine fits both ways, but yes i agree, putting it on flat ground would be better. I just wanted to make sure it would help, and didn't want to buy anything for no reason. Thank you

Are you sure that the PSUs blew up because of overheating?

May be there is a problem with your system's other components.
for example, if you have a high-end GPU and your PSU is not enough to power it up, there can be problems.
So, make sure your PSU is powerful enough to run your system.

My 750w and 550w both blew up, and i only have a r9 270x Toxic and fx 6300. Those two were more than enough to handle it. Also after sparks flew out, the two PSUs were supper hot. It is either that or a short circuit. I am not sure but i hope that this time it will solve the problem.
