Mouse lights NEVER turn off

I have the Cooler Master Storm Devastator Gaming Bundle i.e keyboard & mouse. My problem is the LED lights on the mouse never turn off even when my PC is shut down, so I just unplug the mouse. Please can someone help with this I believe its either a feature in windows or my BIOS, I have tried going into the advanced section of my BIOS and wasn't sure what to disable and/or enable. I'm using windows 8.1 and have the asus m5a97 r2.0 motherboard.

Crazypants :

this is not a problem but some asus mobo have this feature, like keyboard and mouse light remains on even after shutting down your pc, but as soon as you cut off power lights turn off after few seconds

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. There is a feature built into motherboards that allows the USB port to still receive power when the computer is shutdown. That allows people, for example, to plug in their phones or tablets to charge it up even when the computer is off.

My motherboard has this feature but I elected to keep it activated since I charge both my phone and tablet from my computer all the time. Not all motherboards have this ability and will either always power on.. or never allow it.

I am using a very standard Gigabyte 78lmt or something like that and it comes with this feature, I have never activated mine. Most boards have different bios design, especially across different brand names. The only way we can tell you is if someone has that board. Unless someone can reference you to it just out of sheer exp
