Hi there,

I used this website around 2 years ago for my first build and got some fantastic help. I think this forum is great! Anyways, about 4-5 months after my first build my circumstances changed and i needed to sell my PC, now in the next month-month and a half, ive got the funds to build my 2nd PC, but i need help. Ever since i sold my first custom built PC 2 years ago i have fallen out of touch on the tech side of things, below is the parts that im thinking but need help with a few queries i have, any input would be great! Thanks.

CPU: i5 4690k
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo
*****Motherboard*****: Asrock Extreme 6 Z97 ????
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X 16GB (2x8gb)
SSD: Crucial MX200 250Gb
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming
Case: Coolermaster storm scout 2 black
PSU: Seasonic x650
Optical drive: liteon drive
Os: Windows 7
Keyboard: Corsair K70
Mouse: Razer deathadder chroma

So i have a few questions about this next build, for instance the motherboard, can anybody recommend any others or is the motherboard i have chosen ok? I have seen mixed reviews about it and am not sure. I would like the motherboard to be a z97 board.

Second question is i knew this when i built my first PC but, i live in Australia and everything is a lot more expensive than the US, my budget is around $2000 and if i buy them in Australia i now it will come to around $2300-2400 for the parts above, my question being, apart from the power supply could i order the parts from the US and save some money, will the parts be compatible? Anybody have any experience in doing it this way?

Any other suggestions to this build would be thoroughly appreciated as i am extremely excited to get back to the PC community.

Thanks,

Conor

Hey guys,

Yeah i have already been using pcpartpicker, i hope you can find something closer to my original parts. The only real thing i need help with is whats listed, i need some suggestions in regards to the motherboard. For instance shamar you're well off sorry. I only need an i5 processor, i would like the blue g.skill 16gb ram as although 8gb is enough for gaming i would like to venture out and do other things with my pc. The ssd i will be using as a boot drive and have selected the popular crucial updated mx200, hard drive - not much to explain, i had this drive in my last pc and was good. Graphics i have selected as i had a gigabyte gtx 770 in my last computer and that was amazing so giving my custom to gigabyte again. Case is a case, had the same in my last build in white and love the design and ease of use. Seasonic x series psu are great from what i read.

If anyone has any input in regards to the motherboard that would be great. I had an asus pro motherboard in my last build 2 years ago so just trying to see what to go with not too sure on the asrock extreme 6, it looks a good mobo in terms of features, but online got some mixed reviews and dont know to go with something else.

Thanks
