I purchased this new 15'' Sager and installed Windows 7 on it. Its been a pain to get set up just right (issues with making the dedicated card default, but I fixed that). Anyway, yesterday, none of my programs except Chrome would work. For example, I start Steam to get in on some Civ 5 action, nothing happens. Steam.exe is running in the processes window. I can't end the process, either. I would hit end, nothing would happen. Never seen that before on any PC. I remembered Windows update installed something so I rolled it back. No dice. Same with battle.net, Minecraft, VMWare. I did a system restore, didn't work. Full Malwarebytes scan, nothing. I started it in safemode, and it worked fine. I restarted the computer normally, and all of a sudden everything worked fine. I thought "That was weird, but whatever". Now today, same exact thing. I booted into safemode, immediately restarted without doing anything, and it's working fine. I am at a loss, anyone have any idea what could be going on? Specs: Intel Core i74710MQ, 2.5 Ghz, Nvidia Geforce GTX 950m. 12 GB DDR3 RAM (8 from this laptop, 4 GB frm my old laptop I salvaged). If anyone has any insight I would be in your debt forever
It continues to do this, I know I am reposting but I am honestly at a loss. I've also noticed sometimes when I click Start> Restart, the screen will go black like its shutting down, but all of the LEDs on the laptop stay lit and the fan still spins, and it never boots until I hold the power button.
