Ok, this is a peculiar one.

I currently have a Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250 GB with windows installed on it and a TB HD for everything else. The system is running in AHCI mode as seen in my BIOS and shown on the first SSD page in Samsung Magician.

I bought the same SSD again as it worked well and tried to install it, but here's the problem:

I can detect it in BIOS and I can detect it in the Samsung Magician page however it says that AHCI mode is deactivated (which makes no sense as the other one is saying fine for AHCI mode) it also says it's unable to detect SATA interface details. However I can't detect it at all in Disk Management.

I've tried different SATA ports and double checked each one works but can't for the life of me detect this SSD so I can start formatting it.

Any ideas?

Hi Palorim12 thanks for your help so far. I downloaded and installed the drivers but the SSD is still not appearing in disk management so there appears no way to initialise it.

Assuming you haven't already done so...

You might want to check the ASUS drivers download site for your motherboard to determine if your system contains the latest Intel chipset & the latest BIOS update. If both items need updating be sure to download/install the Intel chipset driver first and then the BIOS update.
