My mother's laptop has been slowing down and she asked me to help her. After looking through it, I decided to upgrade some parts (RAM, CPU, replace HDD with SSD) and re-install the OS. The laptop is a Gateway MT6728, I checked specs online and ran CPU-ID to confirm specs.

Currently the CPU is Intel Pentium T2330 / 1.6 GHz
Number of Cores Dual-Core
Cache L2 - 1 MB
Data Bus Speed 533 MHz
Chipset Type Mobile Intel GL960 Express

I want to know what other CPUs are compatible with this laptop. I searched Intel and filtered by processor family (Intel Pentium) and by socket type (Socket P) and found this:

1) Intel® Pentium® Processor T2330
(1M Cache, 1.60 GHz, 533 MHz FSB) Cores: 2, Power: 35 W

2) Intel® Pentium® Processor T2370
(1M Cache, 1.73 GHz, 533 MHz FSB) Cores: 2, Power: 35 W

3) Intel® Pentium® Processor T2390
(1M Cache, 1.86 GHz, 533 MHz FSB) Cores: 2, Power: 35 W

4) Intel® Pentium® Processor T3400
(1M Cache, 2.16 GHz, 667 MHz FSB) Cores: 2, Power: 35 W

From what I can see...the CPUs that would be better would be the T2370,T2390 and T3400. I just want to know if these CPUs are in fact compatible with this laptops board.

I couldn't find if the processors are compatible. I'm guessing that they are, but with laptops, you never know. There's a chance that it's soldered in. If it is, then you are better off buying a new laptop.
In fact, it's better to get a new one because getting the T3400 won't be much of an improvement over the T2330.
