I have recently bought a second gigabyte hd 7970 and need a suitable motherboard and powersupply. The mobo must have lga 1150 socket, 16x16 pci3 and 5.1 surround sound jacks.
My budget is £100 for psu and £150 for mobo. Can go higher if needed.

Specs:
i7 4770k @4.3ghz
2x Gigabyte hd 7970
crucial ballistix 8gb ram
Msi z87-g43 atx
corsair cxm 750watt
2x Hard drives, 1tb and 500gb
2x ssd 260gb and 60gb

The motherboard you have supports crossfire, even with the second slot at x4 could you first try it and see what benefit it gives when gaming.I would only upgrade it if the rewards would be too low.

This psu would save you some money and still would power crossfire fine,

only thing would be that it is bronze rated. Not the same level as the gold one,but still good quality.

Thanks alot, my second 7970 arrived today and i've ordered the evga p2 1000w psu. I've read up on the difference between 16x16, 16x8 and 16x4 all of which seem to give very similar fps, 16x16 getting between 5-10fps more than 16x4. Ill run some benchmarks and post the results.
