I got sick of programs that were only meant for windows so I grabbed an OEM copy of windows 8 in one of my local stores. I deleted all the partitions in the setup and was left with an unallocated space which I created a new partition and formatted it. Then, the setup gave me the error: Windows cannot be installed to this disk, this computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk, ensure disk controller is enabled in the BIOS. However I'm quite sure disk controller is enabled, SATA is set to AHCI (I'm using a 1TB Seagate Barracuda) and SMART is enabled.
