Hi guys,

So I am looking to build a white CPU case with blue theme box for my son. No overclocking or funny business. I've budgeted $650 and whatever I can pillage from a 2012 Dell Inspiron including:

1Hard Drive, 1TB, S3, 7.2K, SGT-PHAR 6G

I3-3240, 3.4, 2C, L1, L

DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 4G, 1600, 256X64, 8, 240, 2RX8

Full Dell List Not That It Matters

Honestly, I'm not sure with a $650 build whether I should keep the proc/ram/mobo/PSU or toss it. I figure I'll keep the hard drive as I don't need much in that direction.

Moving on, I have my eye on this case:

NZXT No Power Supply ATX Mid Tower Case Cases CA-S340W-W1

So I have some random parts and roughly $580 to go on new stuff. I want a blue theme with blue LED's / parts / etc as much as possible.

Thanks so much -- I really appreciate the advice.

Disc drive and LEDs can be dropped to lower the price. Alternatively you can buy a cheaper, low quality case.

Firstly, thanks, Icarus for the advice and help. This will be mostly for games and a little bit of Microsoft Office, web browsing, etc...

Is there something wrong with the NZXT case that I liked? I have a Fractal R5 for my main desktop and love their work, but I really want something white for him.

This is not a laptop -- sorry didn't mean to give that impression. The DELL that I'm pillaging is a desktop and so is this of course. Thanks!!!

Personally IMO, and I think you would agree, the Fractal micro ATX case would be better than the NZXT. It has great cable management and spaces for your son's LED fans (which I think are a waste of money, but I digress).

Thanks tea-urchin. I'll swap these in -- going to order soon. I don't mind spending a bit more on a case; I appreciate it's silly but I figure a case will stick around with me a lot longer than the rest of the parts.

Here's the list -- any final comments really appreciated:
