hello. i have a dell inspiron n5050 and it crashed some time ago. when i try to boot it, it wants me to either launch startup repair or start normally. i started repair but nothing works. i tried to start normally but it gets to the
windows logo and BSOD. i went back into the repair and decided to poke around and now my hard drive that was lettered C: is now lettered X: BOOT. help me please. i'm hoping i don't have to replace the drive. it's the only one i have. :p

Alright go to:

Control panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management > Right click on the "Un allocated" portion of the disk you desired. > format > format to ntfs

i am the admin. windows won't boot to let me to the cp. period. i have ran startup repair and ran every program i could to try to fix the problem and still nothing. i have also noticed that i do see the cp in startup repair and i can't load it cause of some error. the only 2 things i haven't done is replace the drive or try to take it out and put it back in. i can't do that cause i lack the tools required to do so.
