if its a good deal buy the 120gb intel for the system , but if you want to put your games on ssds you should look for another 120gb at least can be other brand, i think samsung is the best tho for sata ssds. about the ram ,16gb can be useful to reduce your pagefile amount, and also to keep programs open when you play a game. i have closely the same system you are building, and i like to keep tons of google chromes, matlab, eagle , avr studi and some other stuff i use/work with daily and having lots of ram comes in here, i don't need to close up every program if i want to start playing a demanding game like gta, witcher, unity etc.

If you are ok with closing most programs then 8 gb is enough for gaming.

I would get 16gb of ram annd a 250gb ssd 850 evo instead of the intel.

also you could reconsider that psu. i assume you buy the K version cpu because you want to overclock. the 4790k can spike up to 300watts http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i7-4790k-devils-canyon-overclock-performance,3845-9.html

as well as the gtx 980 can spike up to 300watts in heavy ocd situations. ofc the average power consumption is a lot lower like 140watt for the cpu and 170watt for the gpu, but still if you want to do heavy ocing and stay safe a bigger supply is needed in my opinion. i would opt for a 750watt

i wouldn't buy 120gb ssd. for 1/2 price its a good deal for a system only drive, but not for also installing games on it since today games are huge. gta5 takes up 70gb on my drive atm, i guess witcher with updates will take like 40-50gb ...

70GB?! Holy shit XD

OK, I'll try to find a better SSD deal somewhere...

The RAM though, I know the high requirements said 8GB minimum, but 16GB seems a bit pricey to be paying on RAM alone :-/

For a game at 1080p you're unlikely to see a difference between the 4790k and the 4690k, so keep that in mind unless you really want an i7. Similarly the 980 might not give you any benefits over the 970 at 60Hz; if you're playing at 144Hz it might be different. Just have to wait for benchmarks.

Also a more powerful PSU will not harm your system. It only provides as much power as is necessary.
