Why do Nvidia cards stir up more hype and produce waaay more sales than AMD ones?

Are they just that much better?

Someone inform me.

My current choices are :

SLI 2x 970s

Crossfire 2x 290x's

The fact that the GTX 970 has out sold all r9 and r7's sold combined is crazy, any reason?

did you also know the NVidia ceo/co-founder was a AMD guy ??

Jen-Hsun Huang (CEO as of 2013), a Taiwanese-born American, previously Director of CoreWare at LSI Logic and a microprocessor designer at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

''I personally like both teams equally''

me to it all depends on who is offering what when I go to buy

lots of folks were having some issues with the latest NVidia drivers it seemed like -- both camps can have there good and bad like I said for me 1/2 of one is as good as the other . as long as it works a I expect it to at a price point , I don't care who made what - just the end results I see up on my screen

NVIDIA cards have become more popular and more widely considered for upgrade because people over at NVIDIA have done a fantastic job with the overall Power Consumption Efficiency, Noise levels and Architecture Development. At this point in time we could say that AMD is losing competition to both NVIDIA and Intel mainly because of their improved power efficiency and architectures.

AMD needs to deliver something really special this time with their new GPUs and CPUs in order to turn the markets in their favor. Rebranding GPUs won't help lol

And as far as cooling the gpus is concerned, well that's the job of the subvendors and I reckon most of them, if not all have been doing a great job with their custom coolers. Eg- ASUS Strix DCU 2, MSI's Twin Frozr V etc
