guys, I recently purchased an SSD drive. I then cloned my old HDD using acronis so I can use the ssd as the boot drive, however the pc is unable to boot from the ssd it says bootmgr is missing and/or corrupt. whereas it boots just fine on the hdd. how can i fix this? is the bootmgr on the hdd and not on the ssd? what can I do? I want to use the hdd as a storage drive.

any help would be great.

all partitions have been cloned including the 100mb partition. does that means there's an issue with the ssd?

I don't think so. Just double check, that the 100MB partition is set a active. If that doesn't help, boot from a windows DVD and try to repair the boot manager.

how do i check if it's set as active? when i go to disk management. i see my two hard drives and two 100mb partitions. but the ssd is just noted as primary partition whereas the hdd has boot, page file, crash dump and primary partition.

And both 100MB partitions should be marked as active.

when i tried to select active through cmd, it says, "the active command can only be used on fixed mbr disks."
also on the ssd there are three partitions - 1 - reserved (128mb) 2 - system (100mb) 3 - Primary (446gb)
