Upgrading parents old computer but they have old IDE drives. How do I transfer the information?

It's very sensitive payroll information from work so I can't risk losing it. I'm updating them to a computer with an i3-3240 with 6gb ram with a motherboard that doesn't support IDE only SATA.

You can get a USB -> IDE adapter to copy files.

They also make SATA -> IDE adapters to convert the IDE drive to SATA.

PCI or PCIe IDE cards are also sold on the market.

You have options for sure.

With such important information, they should have a backup plan in place anyway. You never know when a hard drive will fail(new or old).
