I recently bought Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3. This motherboard has Dual channel memory architecture. But i also have bought 2 Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 Memory Kit (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10) which has Quad Channel Memory Configuration. Will this be a problem? I mean I have put those two in same color coded slots. Should I replace this with Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 Memory Kit (CMZ8GX3M1A1866C10) which has Dual Channel Memory Architecture? Please Help...!!!!!!

Solution
The DRAM doesn't care - each stick is a single 64 bit device, on a dual channel mobo, if two sticks are used or 4 sticks it all runs as dual channel and each stick operates at 128bit instead of the 64 bit to improve efficiency

No no, I have bought 2 Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 Memory Kit (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10) which has Quad Channel Memory Configuration. I was just wandering if there going to be a problem with this, then should I I replace this with the other dual channel ram or not.

Plug in to mobo and start using your PC :)
You can use it is safe :)

Dual channel are this same ass quad channel rams only difference is how mobo using them ;)

For example on mobo with dual channel support you using 4x rams and they work in dual channel mode, in mobo with quad channel support 4x rams will work in quad channel mode :)

RAM doesn't have channels, the number of channels used depends on how many sticks you have plugged in. If you have a quad-channel system and plug in only two RAM sticks it will run in dual channel, add two more and it'll run in quad channel, and if you plug four RAM sticks into a dual channel board... it'll still run in dual channel.
