i dont know about overclocking..can someone tell me or explain the simplest about overclocking...

is it safe to overclock my CPU all day or for entire year?will my i5 4690k be okay?

is overclocking automatic or manual?

Does it afftects my gameplay when im playing when i overclock?

is it different when im overclocking my cpu and my video card? or they automatically overclock when i overclock one..

example: when i overclock my cpu does my video card automatically overclock to?
and when i overclock my video card does my cpu automatically overclock to?

does it affects the life span of my cpu and video card when overclocking?

is it high power consuming when overclocking?

thanks for the answer.. and im sorry for my bad english

In short answer, yes. Depending on how mild to major your overclock is, will result in the lifespan of your CPU. If you have your i5 4690k OC'd to 4.0 GHZ all the time, it may shorten it's lifespan by 2-3 years. voltage plays a good part. But think that in 5-7 years, it will be out of its purpose. Same with your video card. Most of all, overclocking is indeed manual. In power consumption, it might go up by 20 - 50 Watts, depending on your OC. If you want a longer lifespan of your hardware I would take it to a light overclocking.

What I have noticed in gaming is higher fps, depending on the game. In BF4, overclocking my cpu from base clock to a higher clock gave me noticeable smooth gaming, resulting in higher fps. (I took my CPU base clock to a ratio of 4.0 GHZ) which doesn't really give off more heat. But yes, overclocking does increase gaming performance, especially your video card. I wouldn't worry about temps as long as they don't go above 80 - 90 degrees Celsius. BTW, nice cooler.

I wouldn't see why you would need to with a good high end GPU. The only reason for you to overclock is for high graphical gaming like Crysis 3, only if you get below 60 fps. But anyways, you should be good. The i5 4690k already has a pretty good base clock.
