Hello everyone, just about to upgrade my severely outdated PC and was hoping I could get everything checked out before I click the 'buy' button please.

New parts would be:
Asus z97-p motherboard
Intel i5 4460 CPU
Corsair 2x4GB DDR3 1600mhz RAM

I have already bought the following parts and listing for compatibility:
EVGA Geforce GTX 480 GPU
Samsung 840EVO SSD
XFX 750w XXX edition PSU
Zalman Z12 plus case

Just like a check to see if everything will be compatible please. Feel free to recommend alternative parts if there are better ones out there. Will be used for gaming but nothing too intensive. Budget of new parts is around £300.

Thanks for the help.

Since that CPU cannot be overclocked, it is useless getting a Z97 board. Instead, get an H97 board, and save some money.

Thanks for the reply.
I saw the H97 boards but it is difficult to find one that fits the Graphics Card I have. Will that one be compatible? The Asus Z97 is around the same price as other H97 boards too (£68).

That is an excellent buy!!! You usually don't get z97 boards that cheap, so get that immediately! Don't worry about your other parts, they are all compatible. However, since you are getting a z97 board, get some better RAM!! The sticks you have put run at only 1600MHz, while your motherboard supports 2133MHz RAM and higher. Here are is one that run at 2133MHz:

Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory (£54.98 @ Amazon UK)

Finally, since you are getting a z97 board, why not get an i5 4690k if your budget allows it? It will last longer, since you can overclock it if it starts bottlenecking future upgrades:

OR! Get a CPU that is designed for overclocking. I bought my i5 3570k a couple years ago when it was still relatively newer knowing that I didn't want to replace it for a while. I never overclocked it until the last couple months and now that I have a stable OC on it, it almost feels like having a newer CPU without have spent any extra money on an upgrade. I would recommend a good aftermarket CPU cooler if you're going to take this route such as the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 evo. Great cooler for cheap-like $35 tops maybe. I'm really glad I made this decision because now I can put off upgrading my CPU for a little bit longer and still play current titles at a great performance quality.
