Hi,

I have an Alienware 14 laptop with Windows 7.

Recently, i've been receiving a lot of BSOD at approximate regular intervals. Say, one in every 2/3 hours. I'm not sure what is causing this. But, every time the computer restarts after BSOD, my nVidia Geforce GTX 765M Graphics Card does not work. I'm getting the message from windows as follows:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: d1
BCP1: 0000000000000028
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: FFFFF880022B9780
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

I used BlueScreenView to get the following:

Is there any possibility of a hardware failure ? Pls help...
Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Rajesh.

Solution
ndis.sys is a networking component. Most likely you will need to update a ethernet driver.
either wired, wireless or maybe a bluetooth driver. very low likely hood of a hardware failure.

this is some driver accessing a bad memory address (memory location 28)

someone would have to look at the memory .dmp file to figure out the name of the driver.
or sometimes you can run whocrashed.exe or bluescreenview.exe and it might be able to tell you the driver name. Since it is a bad memory location there are good odds that something corrupted memory and its not the drivers fault.

I would copy the memory dump file from c:\windows\minidump directory to a server an post a link. Any server that lets you post files (microsoft onedrive, or media fire ) would work

Hi johnbl,

Thank you very much for your quick response. I removed the Ethernet and Wireless drivers and installed the latest version. Hopefully, the BSOD won't happen again. I haven't updated the Bluetooth drivers yet. Hoping for the best...

Thanks again. Will update the post with the results...

Regards...
