Hi Guys,

Just looking through the minimum and recommended System Requirements for The Witcher 3:

Minimum System Requirements

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 940
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
RAM: 6GB
OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
HDD Space: 40 GB
DirectX 11

Recommended System Requirements

CPU: Intel Core i7 3770 3.4 GHz or AMD AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
RAM: 8GB
OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
HDD Space: 40 GB
DirectX 11

I have a GeForce GTX 970 and 16GB of RAM, so I match or beat all the recomended requirements apart from my CPU.

I have an Intel i5 4460 (3.2GHz) CPU, and that is even below the minimum. So, will this really be an issue?

Solution
the 4460 is NOT below the minimum. while the 2500k is 100MHz faster as stock, the 4460 is two generations newer, so it has a bit IPC difference, so it should be equivalent to about the 2500k @ 3.6-8GHz, not to mention that the 4460 can turbo boost to even higher, so you shouldn't worry.

Alright thank you,

I know it's not a great source but 'System Requirements Lab' was stating that my CPU is below minimum,

I'm guessing they're just saying that because it was 100MHz slower? If that's the case, thats not a good website at all.

theres a lot of bad websites that decide that with algorithms, and that one probably saw the 100MHz, and didn't consider IPC and Turbo Boost.

the only reason that CD projekt red put that i5 there, is that is intel's oldest somewhat quadcore processor, because it needed a quad core, and the first gen i5's were just too slow for the game.
