Hello, I am building a M-ITX system using:
· Cooler Master Elite 130 case
· ASUS Z91I-Plus motherboard
· Intel 4790 Devils Canyon CPU

I need to add a CPU cooler better than the Intel stock one. Concerns are:
· Height – about 64mm clearance between CPU and bottom of power supply\
· TDF rating – 84w needed (plan to overclock the CPU)

I thought I had a winner with the Noctua NH-L9i 95mm SSO2 CPU Cooler, but I saw it was rated for 65W TDP:

Intel Haswell
65W or less Yes
84W* Partly
Recommended with good case ventilation, Intel Turbo Mode disabled and typical workloads only (not recommended for continuous 100% load on all CPU cores).
88W Partly

I need to decide on a CPU cooler which will fit vertically and also provide the 84W TDF rating protection to overclock. Any recommendation would be appreciated! Thanks

But not overclockable. as the OP wants. I think it would be cheaper to change to a Thermaltake Core v1 case, which runs a lot cooler and has much more clearance.

I don't know, but if the OP wants to overclock, they better have a 4760K :)

The Core V1 has 140mm of clearance. It will take nearly anything.

Not looking to change the case or CPU I already purchased some time ago, just get a cooler that is less than 65mm and supports 84W.

I know the liquid coolers by Cooler Master that rest on the CPU will definitely fit, but is liquid cooled my only option and no air cooler given the height/84W restrictions? Thanks.
