Blue screen 32 bit... Upgrade to 64 bit?

Got the blue screen of death on my windows 8.1 32 bit OS. If I buy 8.1 64 bit install disk will I be able to upgrade to it successfully?

No, there is no upgrade path from 32 bit to 64. This requires a full reinstallation of everything so be sure to make a full backup or two in case there are things you need later.
