I took out the battery of my laptop while updating and now its just staying on a black screen. what can I do to fix it?

Removing the battery from you laptop when it is not plugged into an outlet basically turns off the laptop.
When this happens during the time Windows is updating itself it will likely corrupt the operating system. You will need to reinstall Windows. This will basically delete everything on the C: drive.
