With DirectX 12 coming out and one of its key features (or at least the one that peaks my interest) is that VRAM will stack, for example if you have two 4GB cards that would equal 8GB of VRAM total. I am thinking about purchasing Octane Render, but I don't see this feature implementing. Unless OpenCL can use DirectX, but I don't know if that is the case.

So I'm wonder if anyone knows that Octane or any other GPU rendering program will utilize stack-able VRAM feature?

Solution
We are still roughly 2 months away from the Windows 10 release. Until that day comes, I would not expect too many companies to be promoting the fact that they support DX12, outside of video card companies.

After Windows 10 is released, I think every rendering company, and any other company with a graphical program, will be scrambling to optimize their usage of the new DX12, or OpenCL which will also be using the new "closer to the metal" code.
