Minecraft, High end pc, insanely low fps.

I am trying to run minecraft with shaders on my pc, i get 30 fps!!! People with 900 worse pc's get higher.

Here is my specs
SLI (2x) 970 SSC
i7 4790K
16GB 2400 DDR3

10GB ram dedicated...

Why is it so low! thanks guys

CSGO i can get about 400-500fps at anytime on ultra

I've read terrible fluke performance issues with MC (modded)...not sure why.

Are you running at really high resolutions? Monitoring VRAM usage?

Important things to do when running minecraft:

1) Run off 64bit Java, NOT 32bit.
2) Allocate enough ram, at least half that of your system. But don't allocate too much, that can cause instability.
3) Make sure VSync is disabled and set framerate to unlimited/maximum (Kind of forget what option this was)

Also what are you running Minecraft off, the original launcher or ATLauncher?

its 1080p, which is absolute overkill in all games with my gpu's

i am running jre 8 u45 64bit\
i have 10gb dedicated...
vsync is off

Ok a few more things lol

1) Shaders can drop FPS quite heavily, I'd advice turning shaders off.
2) If you're going to use Texture packs, use 64x64 packs not 128 or over
3) Make sure 64bit java is the only java you have installed and select it through your minecraft java directory settings, in launcher.

That's ridiculous!!!!! You're telling me I can play 4k games over 120fps but I cannot get over 30 on minecraft with shaders!!!!!

Keep in mind a few things. it's not a limitation of your system, it's a limitation with JAVA. Also minecraft is a very CPU/RAM intensive game, it barely even uses your gpu's if at all you'll find... This is why you can get fps drops with loads of mods, shaders and texture packs installed.

Do me a favor if you will... Disable shaders then post a screenshot of your FPS, i can almost guarantee it will increase performance. Also, here's a little thread about Minecraft Shaders vs Performance:

You could also try turning down the RAM to 4 GB. Are you using the FTB launcher? If so make sure to disable the enhancements for fast computers option.

Which shader pack are you using? Does it have low FPS on the standard and lite versions?

I do know one mod pack reviewer plays with it flawless, his name is ided, also many people on forums mention around 500fps with 1 gfx card 20x worse "than my 2x"

I have a 1070 and with SEUS my gpu usage is 70% and i only get 45fps
