So here's my story, I will explain in detail so that you guys could answer in the best possible way.

I decided to clean my 5 year old PC which has been gathering a lot of dust over the years. I bought some isoprophyl alcohol 99% instead of compressed air because I was unable to get it. Just so you know, I live in a third world country and items like compressed air are very hard to find (and probably expensive if I ever find one), I even had to go back and forth just to find some thermal paste.

Before actually cleaning I have read many topics regarding cleaning computers in this forum and others, and I concluded that using the alcohol on PC parts are fine and that I needed to plug in the power cable and touch the internal part of the case every 5 minutes or so to avoid static shock. And for your information I worked on a wooden table with ceramic floor tiles.

So finally I took the parts out of my PC and disassembled everything, yes everything (even disassembling the GPU), because I intended to clean ALL of the dust on my PC. One thing I noticed was that when I put my hand on the bottom part of the case, I got some electric shock and it can get unbearable at times. However I decided to carry on (while assuming this is okay).

On cleaning I used the isoprophyl alcohol on some dry cloth, some toothbrush and a paint brush. I cleaned EVERY Pc component with this method including mobo, gpu except the PSU (remember I've read that alcohol is fine on components). Because I was unable to clean the CPU heatsink properly, I washed it with water and allowed it to dry overnight. After the parts are clean I left the alcohol to dry for around 5-10 minutes. I also applied new thermal paste to both the cpu and gpu.

Before I put everything back together I unplugged the power cable to avoid getting static shocks again, then proceeded to assemble the PC. When I plug the power cable back in I heard a mini explosion, like a mini "thud" from the prongs. One funny thing is that after this I've never felt any static shocks ever again from the case. I pressed the power button but no follow through, seems like the PC wouldn't boot up. Tried another power outlet, tried plugging in and out the cables assuming I put the component cables in the wrong place but still no result.

Is this the end of my PC? I really hope not :( Can any of you help me with this. I really appreciate any help. Here's my rig:
-Athlon II X4 635 (stock fan)
-Mobo: MSI 770 G45
-4GB DDR3 RAM
-MSI Radeon 5770 Hawk
-430W PSU
