my dad ordered the 1MB internet speed 2 years ago but now he is thinking of upgrading to 10MB

will 10MB lower pings in gaming? cause when i game i get 127+pings i can never find a server which is -50 ping

so will the 10MB lower pings in gaming?

Not really, it may be better if you are on a wireless network but you are strictly limited by the type of line you are on (i.e. copper wire) and the distance to your nearest broadband exchange. The 10mb internet will increase your download speed up to 10x (based on your distance from the exchange) but latency will remain the same.

The only option would be to sign up for FTTC (fibre to the cabinet) if it is available in your area, as this would improve your latency (ping) so you would get probably < 50 in game. I have FTTC and I can get 10-20ms ping in game if the server is EU.

Hope this helps.
nope. Not unless it's on a different service all together. for example moving from one provider on DSL to another on cable. then you might see an improvement in latency. but if you're seeing line latency like that it's doubtful you'll ever see the advertised speed increase with the same provider ESPECIALLY if its on DSL; as latency is a direct reflection of "nearness" to the provider's network hub; as is internet connection speed.

If you're on cable you have some seriously bad lines in your neighborhood, and again likely won't see a massive improvement in connection speeds going to 10mb/s
