I have recently built a new PC and it was running great. However the other day whilst playing arma II the pc crashed and would no longer boot. I was getting a 3 long beep code (error 53) no ram in the slots. i tested my ram it was fine placed one in each of the four slots still no boot. i then proceeded to atempt to boot without the gpu (gtx970), still no boot. i hen replaced the power source still no progress. Im trying to determine if it is cpu fault or motherboard. im pretty sure it would be a motherboard fault, should i bother finding a cpu to test in the rig or should i just replace the bored (return it)? plus would anyone know what may be the cause, if any at all?

Remove everything from the board leaving only the CPU and 1 RAM DIMM. Proceed to boot it up. If it posts you can add the other RAM. If it posts with full RAM then there's a chance your PSU cannot handle the GPU. In this case you might want to test your GPU somewhere else or have another PSU for testing.
Although the GS600 is enough for a 970 it might not be enough when combined with the processor and the other components.

I have later found out that the ram i had selected was not compatible with the motherboard is this a problem even though i had the pc running fine up until now?
