Hi
I'm about to build my first pc
I already picked gtx 960 as my video card. However i'm stuck between fx6300 and i3 4170. I know the i3 has better single threaded performance, cooler and consumes less electricity. I would really like to play witcher 3, but I saw that its minimum requirement is an i5. Really tight on budget right now and i can't stretch it to get an i5.

Thanks in advance :)

In your first post BadBoyRog2 had some very good suggestions.
Of those two processors my personal choice would be the 6300 along with the 960 card or if you could afford it an R9 280 or 290 Radeon.
BadBoy is really on the mark: and here's a suggestion: If you go with the GTX 750Ti, you might save enough money to afford the G3258 or perhaps even an i5.Your first posted build on the other thread looked pretty promising.

Yeah, that was my first choice as well (i3 + 750ti), until i saw the required specs for witcher 3. I decided to get the 960 so that i won't upgrade again in the near future. I think I'll go for the fx6300. Thanks man

Going with the 6300, it will be worth your money to get a 990X or 990FX motherboard. The 970 chipset is o.k. but doesn't allow for much if any overclocking (in the future).
